Part I: Quality Assurance@Penn State: Process & Outcomes
This session will explore the process to adapt the Quality Matters rubric for quality assurance to the Penn State system.
Part II: SLN ID activity: pin the standard on the model
This instructional design small group activity will have us break into small groups to fit the QM standards to the COI model, SLN’s foundational theoretical framework, as the first step in adapting QM as a formative and summative tool in SLN new online faculty development and course design.

New Approaches in Online Learning Research
This presentation will share new research towards a theory of online teaching and learning. This ongoing investigation employs novel research methods including quantitative content analysis, social network analysis, and cluster analysis to further our understanding of pedagogical, social, and cognitive processes essential for quality online education.
